How Disappointing

Renee and I went out for lunch/early dinner today, and since it was early we went to one of our favorite restaurants that we hadn't been to in a long time. We ate there a lot when I was still working and we would go out to dinner every Friday after I've been paid, but with me not working anymore dinner usually comes up later and that place is ( Read more... )

You move out here, we bring you to the 'Wich House. You have noms. You fall in love. All will be well. Our Corbie is small and hyper (though, terrier-hyper, not small-dog-hyper; having had a Pom, there's a difference) but I won't be offended if you don't love him, or even like him. Even though he's awesome, and even though I love dogs, he was more dog than angel was, when we first got him, and it was an adjustment. *I* think he's awesome, but then I'm hopelessly in love.

May the weekend go swiftly for you both. :)

Oh cool, what sort of restaurant is that? Baltimore, and Maryland in general, can make it very hard to find places to eat out if you don't like fish (they put fish in fucking everything, they put fish in fucking macaroni and cheese in a few places I can think of), so I have been sort of wondering what is the food/diet you can't get away from in Eugene? (please don't be fish, please don't be fish)

I don't like barking dogs in general, but a big part of that was giant loud dog in small enclosed space, which is just awful. But you know, that's a fine attitude to have really. I don't mind people liking/loving dogs and I try not to be obnoxious about it, sadly it sometimes seems like dog owners that are not obnoxious (or oblivious, as in not everybody loves dogs so maybe I shouldn't let my dog go after everyone and just wave protests off like its not big deal when they come) seem to be so damn rare. Neither you nor Beth come off that way so I'm in no way worried about that. And besides I can get along okay with some dogs, so who knows?

The 'Wich house is a sandwich shop, but that really doesn't do it justice. Typical of Eugene, it's an environmentally sound sandwich shop where the owner/cook is passionate about his food and business. It's handmade, homemade, etc. He's got a small menu, but it's pretty much a meal between bread. Meat falling apart awesomeness. So, so good.

I dunno. I haven't noticed anything impossible to get away from, and I'm pretty picky. Now, you can't get Chinese food that tastes quite right (but then, I haven't been thrilled with any I've had since leaving New England) and our favorite pizza these days are either homemade or frozen. Out and about, there seems to be a pretty wide variety of food options. Fish is definitely avoidable. ;)

lyadann is one of my bestest friends and probably the singlemost reason I survived childhood. She's one of two people who have the "move back to New England for me" passes (my brother has the other) so that should tell you how high on my list she is. And, she doesn't like dogs in general, doesn't like my ( ... )

That really sucks, but the Chinese food in Baltimore is shit too (and you can't find a buffet anywhere in the city, what the fuck?), so I suppose I'm used to it. There were some really good places in MA I used to eat at regularly, but yeah nothing since leaving ( ... )
