I went in saying there's no reason to do worse than 55 minutes, and that 52 is a reasonable expectation. I run without a watch, so entirely by feel and with the ever fervent hope that there will be volunteers calling out splits at the mile markers. Most often, I'm just pleasantly surprised to find mile markers!

Salvaged!
My running week did not start or proceed as expected. Instead of a nice 7 mile run last Sunday, I shivered in a 20f barn in ashfield all day and got home to run the only treadmill mile that I've ever felt like I might seriously fall asleep before I finished. Today, started the week with a 7 mile run, in 1:02:xx. Runkeeper and the spibelt are my new friends.

Run for the hills, 5k
26:59. 4th in age group, 81st of 180 overall. So just a bit on the faster side of average, as usual.
The route felt easier than last year, which is how I know I'm in better shape. Got 5 ish bee stings, all in a cluster on my back, and had something like a minor allergic reaction but much improved now. If only the sting site would stop being so ( Read more... ) -

I have a job that I enjoy, a great workplace, and coworkers who actually seem to like me
