I stayed in bed for days last week, including t-day, which was fine with me. I felt better on friday and went to work at Lucky 13. I was worse again saturday. I am still sick. I ( Read more... )

Try an antihistamine if you still have post-nasal drip, it irritates the throat. I've found Alavert to be a godsend--no discernable side effects at all. Otherwise, the usual, herbal tea with honey, gargling with weak warm saline, trying to talk as little as possible. Don't suppose you could get a mike for class so you don't injure your throat further?

My favorite cold remedy is lots of spicy thai food, but I suppose if your throat is that sore spicy food is not a good idea.

Hope you feel better soon.

watch out for bleeding with that much ibu.
i was taught 800mg-1000mg then 100-200 every 4 hours, to maintain your dosage. as an anti-inflamitory, and by body weight.

personally i would say:
3 full cloves of garlic, and a lot of chilli peppers in hot food.
2000mg of vitamin C twice a day.
at least 2 liters of water a day.
A LOT of Coricidin AND Sudafed AND Thera-Flu (or the generic equivalents...)

and then REST REST REST.

Yup. Spicy food, lots of water and lemon juice, lemon juice, lemon juice. In fact, a little lemon juice/maple syrup or honey/water/cayenne pepper mixture helps. Just a little bit of cayenne though, that stuff is powerful. Also, the raw garlic is great for healing, too. I like to make chicken soup (you could of course use some kind of veggie soup) and after it's done heating up, put chunks of raw garlic in it. That way, you get all the benefits of raw garlic without having to eat it straight up.

I hope you feel better soon!
