that maple tree we sat under is still stubbornly green.   maybe it's not just us people, and sometimes even the trees have trouble letting go.  perhaps i'll meet you in winter-  when there's nothing left to hold onto.

the leaves are gone now. but before they fell, they were bright yellow. that was the last color i thought they'd be.
