Manmade disasters followed by apathy.  I'm sure you care for yourselves, perhaps even for each other in some cases...but when it comes to the world around you it's enough to give a collective shrug of the shoulders. It's as if I never left Gotham.  Can I assume this is a typical week for the environment intended to make us 'better'?

Combat's rarely personal, ma'am. I don't hold a grudge, but I won't be letting my guard down any time soon.

I don't even know you. [And you opened yourself up for judgement by people you don't know Olive, shut up. :c]

Does that matter? You seemed determined enough that we get to know you.

And you managed to spend almost your entire monologue either discussing the men in your life, or comparing yourself unfavorably to another woman. At least partly because of the man in her life.

It might not've been personal for you, but what you did was very personal to us. We're people, not toys.

Being people, with rights, you don't get to use us without our consent and then get away with a bullshit non-apology about how not-personal it was for you. You do owe us an apology, a sincere one, acknowledging that you violated our rights and avowing not to do it again. To anyone, for any non-personal purpose.

[Because Ariadne is totally a hypocrite.]

Don't confuse what I said with an insincere apology. Any sort of apology, come to that.

That's an easy judgement to make. From what I've seen, you have used the 'world around us' to your own means, too.

For its own sake as much as mine.

justareverie November 23 2011, 20:53:29 UTC
And yet do you appreciate being stopped, for your sake as well as ours?

You presume too much by thinking you know what would be for 'my sake'.

Not particularly. This one was rather surprising.

Which explains the atmosphere of complete resignation, of course.

You have to look...beneath...other people's motives.

[uneasy? yep.]

I would, if I thought there was the slightest chance of finding anything there.
