I suppose there are people living in one country and working in the other, so that makes sense, and I suppose it's applied all over Europe.

For the moment, people who have to commute for work, parents who live separately but want to visit their kids and people who have their partner in another country are exceptions anyway. A co-worker of mine has a boyfriend who lives in Switzerland and she can stay longer than the 24h there without having to go into quarantine. :)

Well, things aren't looking too good in any of our countries and I think we're all a bit worried about this year's Christmas .... :/

Here, toys are considered non-essential, so you can only buy them online. They closed the toy alleys (the book alleys, etc.) in supermarkets because it was considered "unfair competition" compared to small shops closed due to the lockdown. That's gonna make for an awesome Christmas... -__-;;

Here, fitness studios were complaining because they had to close down, but like tennis halls were still open (because tennis is a sport played with a max of 4 people). After many complaints, the government has now closed down ALL indoor sport things, excluding only school sport and pro sport...... *headdesk*

Well, here only people from 2 households are allowed to be together. That doesn't work on Christmas for most people. Imagine you have 2 kids, both students, both living in their own apartment, but always coming home for Christmas. Well, congrats! With the new rules you now can choose which of your two kids is allowed to come over for Christmas ..................................

These views you've captured are simply stunning! Wow. Being alone on a mountain is really a great feeling. I have to go slower on my descents due to my knees, so if I were to plan a long hike like that I'd have to allot some extra time for that. What do you usually bring along for lunch?

Well, I got walking poles from a co-worker but I have never used them. Thus far it works well without them. Like I mentioned I do have issues with my knees as well. What I do is I walk down in curves, not straight. That helps my knees tremendously. :)

During my spring and summer hikes I simply had a few nuts and dates and sometimes I ate them, sometimes I didn't eat anything at all because I wasn't hungry. I later figure that wasn't the best idea as my muscles need magnesium and my body needs nutrients to recover. ^^;

Nuts and dates are always good to have on you, but usually I have some chopped veggies and bread with with cheese or something. :) It's easy to carry around and a light lunch that doesn't wear you down afterwards.

I see a lot of people also carry bananas or apples. :)

I typically have a banana, and random snacks like energy bars. Sometimes nuts. And sometimes, even an actual packed lunch! Veggies, bread and cheese sounds so good.

My PT told me when I descend to stick my hips forward a little bit to take some of the burden off my knees. It seems to help.

Perfect hiking food! :D

I don't walk straight down but in snake lines which also takes off the burden a bit. At least for me it works. :D
Takes only a tiny bit longer than walking straight down. ;)

Glad you enjoyed the photos. :)

It looks like hiking season is over now. Temps are falling quickly and I suppose most peaks will be covered in snow soon enough.
