Well after much pestering I finally recieved an e-mail from Uvic saying 'Because of the high competitiveness that our program has become we will be refusing your file'. I am not that suprised as I thought it would come down to a 50/50 chance and i'm not known for my luck. Still, why didn't I apply to other 'safe' schools? After being rejected I

you could come back here and drive a cab! you could take over my job as i'm thinking of quitting, which i always do within a year of a new job. or go to vancouver and drive a cab, i hear they make huge money there

Apparently taxi drivers make some good money up here too, even though the town is so small you can drive from on end to the other in 5 minutes.
