Yesterday I went to Woburn to trim my grandfather's shrubs. I'd never done such a thing before but I decided that it wouldn't hurt to develop another skill to put on my resume. After spending several hours at the beach this past weekend, I have acquired a very sexy bright-red tan. This is partly due to the direct rays of midday sun, partly to inadequate sunblock application, and partly to the fact that I was determined to cure my pasty whiteness at all costs. For the most part, I am happy. Granted, things haven't been perfect. My income is still based on substitute teaching, playing piano, and doing chores for my grandfather. The other day, in the 90 degree heat, I played a 3-hr tennis match with Annie, making it the most exercise I've had in eons. I wasn't hurting too bad from it yesterday but today I'm rediculously sore and barely able to walk normally. I had all four of my wisdom teeth yanked today - the most serious surgery I've had since I was born. I've been fortunate throughout my life with my health; I very rarely get sick, I've never broken a bone (well, a mere fracturing of my elbow) and I have no allergies or medical conditions.
