Thursday morning we woke up at 5.20 and got in a taxi with Matt and Andrea to gate 14 on the UNSW campus. There were a bunch of people there waiting for the bus to the secret speaker's adventure. The bus took us in to town and stopped outside the Sydney Tower building. Inside the building everyone had to get into these wacky suits with harnesses ( Read more... ) -

Wednesday was the day of my talk so I woke up a little nervous, still sleep deprived from staying up late at the Google party. My German friend Matt was giving his talk at 11am and his laptop (intel macbook) just stopped turning on the day before for no conceivable reason, so I had to install open office impress so he could show his slides. Tuesday morning started with Chris Blizzard of the One Laptop Per Child project's keynote address. It was fascinating to hear about the project straight from the horse's mouth and be able to ask questions directly. This is definately the best thing about the Linux Conf, and conferences in general - there is simply no better data mining algorithm ( Read more... ) -
