Hey, all. The Gibbon is in NYC, on week 2 of the tour.
Canada & NYC
The Gibbon was in Canada for about a week, but only the french-speaking bits, and not much of them. More time was definitely deserved, so Canada is added to the list of "Next time..." locations.
Montreal & Quebec were an interesting variant on France. Same language, some shared customs, but while in France, the mangled Franglais of The Gibbon would bring only hatred and obstinacy from the locals, in Canada the attitude was more "Aw! Look at it try to speak! Who's a good little tourist then?". So French-speaking Canada is like France but without the legendary Gaulish ill-will to the English, and therefore well worth a visit.
New York, on the other hand, does live up to its surly reputation, particularly from checkout staff. The Gibbon grows familiar with that "I'm thinking of tearing out your jugular with my exquisitely detailed nails, but I won't as I'd have to clear up the mess" stare. On the plus side, cream-cheese bagels are worth the stare. Creamy-creamy-cheesy-cheesy!
Aparently walking over 100 blocks a day is not normal. The Gibbon is also tired of museums that F. insists upon inflicting. Next stop, Washington.
While sharing our New York operative's tiny apartment, The Gibbon and F. have already started to break his brain.
This is an example.
Next stop,
unknownid.
