I'm making this livejournal update from my laptop in the O'Connell center with my new wireless network card. I got the card at Circuit City for $50 and it has a $25 rebate. I was just washing my plate in the kitchen sink and there was a small fly, maybe a gnat, flying around me, so I swatted it with my hand and he fell into the water in the sink, then down the drain when I turned the water off. The other day, I got what appeared to be junk mail in my mailbox, but after looking at it, I realized they were giving away a bunch of free stuff at various places, so I cut out the coupons that interested me. It is unbelievable how close Hurricane Ivan's eye has come to making landfall, but actually hasn't. It looks like the eye is going to miss Cuba completely, by what looks to be a matter of micrometers. While this means it hasn't "directly" hit Jamaica, the Cayman islands, or possibly Cuba, it's gotten close enough to generate an enormous storm ( Read more... )

Ok... all these computer models I'm looking at are really starting to point Ivan to Florida. This is crazy.

First week of school is in the books already, and I think it should be a good semester. My only complaint is I couldn't get into a class that I wanted to, as seats just wouldn't open up for me. Should be ok though, I'll just take it next semester ( Read more... )
