Shukran, ya habibi :)

And none of you believe his self-deprecation - he got me beautiful icons of my guardian angel and St. Xenia of St. Petersburg, and took me out for a lovely dinner. And sent a "sana helwa, ya gameela" message to my phone at 5 am this morning.

And he'll EVEN let me keep pretending I'm 22! My mother has stopped cooperating with that one.

Yep, not a slacker in the slightest :)

Chris, what year are you in grad school at Duke? My husband's a first year in the biomedical engineering department.

Nikki, I think we should all go out if I come down there - Chris swing dances too :)

WHERE? Where does one swing-dance in this one-horse medical professionals' town?

We are not very good, but I love to amuse total strangers. It's totally a date. ;)

Chris and Dan would probably get along. Apparently they are both nerdy. Dan was one of those guys who totally loved Orgo. Even at Hopkins, that was a rarity, y'know?

I'm a third year in Biochem. I go swing dancing on the first and third Saturdays of the month (though not this week, for obvious reasons :-D) at the Durham Armory, where they have live music. The two of y'all should look into the Duke Ballroom dance club.

And I did love Orgo. Enough to be a chem major. But I love Physical Chem (especially quantum chemistry) even more. :-D

Ya habibi, I just looked and this and was struck by how very strange it is that I just got a "Happy birthday, beautiful" on the very same blog that I first found you on.

:)
