Well, my little eleven-year-old Mazda is going to have to be retired, I'm afraid. It's going to cost $1500 to replace the oxygen sensors and the catalytic converter, both of which are toast. Without them, there's no way it'll pass vehicle emissions, which I have to do to get my 2010 tabs in May. And the car's Kelly Blue Book is $1500. There's ( Read more... )

I'm really happy with my 3, even though it got nearly totaled when it was only 6 months old. You're going to be amazed how much power it has compared to what you're used to. I hope the purchase process is as painless as possible!

:D That's good to hear!

I was pretty excited that my little Protege lasted 11 years--I have some vague hopes that I can make this one last at least close to that. Helps that I don't drive much--I put 90,000 miles on the Protege in 11 years, which isn't bad.

I highly recommend you go ahead and get all the bells and whistles. Including a/c, heated seats, AUTOMATIC (!!), etc.

:D Definitely.

I'm getting the i Touring model, which has most of that--a/c, automatic (because the freaking hills up here have been kicking my ass for too long now--my current car is manual, and it has about two feet of rollback on really steep hills). Bluetooth handsfree, with phone buttons on the steering wheel. Hee! Keyless entry, which is the thing I most wanted of all. And an aux jack so I can use my iPod Shuffle and other MP3 players in the car.

YES! I am really excited, which is good, because the payment is going to make the budget pretty tight. But pretty! And everything will work! Whoo!

:D I know! I was expecting drama, but no, apparently the auto loan people aren't in trouble with the government the way the mortgage people are. Heh.
