Well, my little eleven-year-old Mazda is going to have to be retired, I'm afraid. It's going to cost $1500 to replace the oxygen sensors and the catalytic converter, both of which are toast. Without them, there's no way it'll pass vehicle emissions, which I have to do to get my 2010 tabs in May. And the car's Kelly Blue Book is $1500. There's

I was pretty excited that my little Protege lasted 11 years--I have some vague hopes that I can make this one last at least close to that. Helps that I don't drive much--I put 90,000 miles on the Protege in 11 years, which isn't bad.

I'm getting the i Touring model, which has most of that--a/c, automatic (because the freaking hills up here have been kicking my ass for too long now--my current car is manual, and it has about two feet of rollback on really steep hills). Bluetooth handsfree, with phone buttons on the steering wheel. Hee! Keyless entry, which is the thing I most wanted of all. And an aux jack so I can use my iPod Shuffle and other MP3 players in the car.
