Thanks! Yeah, it was probably the easiest remodel ever--the hardest part was getting the dishwasher out (kudos to my brother in law). Even the floor was much easier than we thought. It's not stuck down, just cut to fit and sitting on top of the existing floor.
The closest thing to drama was that the fridge came with the doors hung the wrong way--my fault, we talked about it while mulling, but I didn't make sure it got on the order. And even that wouldn't be a problem, except my hand is still all messed up, so doing all those bolts and screws means today is not comfortable.
You guys should come visit, I could cook you a real dinner!
Thanks! And yes--working appliances, that are actually in the kitchen. (The fridge has been on the patio for the last week, because it leaks, so I didn't want it on the new floor, or the dining room carpet. There's just something so... wrong about having a fridge outside. It made my inner Virgo twitch.)
Ha! True. And honestly, having the fridge on the patio amused more than annoyed me.
It's just--having to get dressed before breakfast, so I could go out and get the smoothie ingredients. And having the whole neighborhood be able to watch if I decided I wanted a midnight snack. Apparently I have food issues, because it was sort of like having my porn collection on the front porch, or no curtains on the bedroom windows. :D
:D Happy to pimp this stuff, because it is AWESOME. It's Tarkett Fiberfloor (http://www.tarkettna.com/en/Products/FiberFloor/tabid/68/Default.aspx). It's kind of spendy ($2.75 per square foot), but worked out great and not too expensive in my teeny kitchen. As long as your existing floor is in reasonable condition, you just cut it, put it down, and put in your baseboard. We (read: my sister, with cheerleading and support from me) cut most of it in place with very sharp razor blade, using a hair dryer in the touchy areas to make it more bendy (it's pretty floppy already, but some areas needed surgical precision--the entry way to the dining room, for instance). But you can also cut it with scissors, if your baseboards are deep enough to give you wiggle room

I don't know - Ray-Ray might take offense at that. *g* there's a certain whiskey tango-ness about that which makes me smile

I'm going to be in Seattle overnight later this month. Once I know the details, maybe we can get dinner of coffee?
