Graduate students in the sciences such as myself rely on their budgets to not only receieve our stipends but to do our research. indian musical event
today i went and heard a wonderful flutist from india named Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. he was so amazing, and so were his sitar and drum accompanists. he opened with "early evening raga" which HAD to be played first b/c it was early evening. he had a great sense of humor and had so much passion while he played. it was so inspirational, i wanna ( Read more... ) -
not bein preachy, just somethin to think about
i never really bought the thought that fish don't feel pain. if Aplysia aka sea slugs withdraw when zapped with a mild shock, i kinda figured fish could feel something, too. since byron's class last year (functional and integrative neuroscience) i've become fascinated with studying the concept of pain.
