I hope you're right about any of those three guesses. I haven't even played the game, but of what I've watched of the anime (really need to get back to that XD), Dante looks SOOO much better with white/silver hair!! Though, if they throw in that whole "Vergil is Nero's daddy" thing and it ends up being that this game is your third guess, I'mma be torn between screaming "NOOO!!!!!" at the top of my lungs and squealing really damn loud. (Yes, I am THAT f**ked up. Leave me alone.)
Yeah....s'cuse me, but I ain't buying that shit. Virgil hated humans, and I highly doubt he'd go and rape one.
As for "Dante's" new look, I, personally, like it. Yeah, the silver hair is nice to look at, but so is the black, IMHO. Although the skunk stripe is kinda dorky. XD
Capcom will probably vaguely explain it, but not completely, as usual. -eyeroll-
