I'm sorry. As Head Boy I suppose you're obligated to dock points etcetera for what happened. What happened was that because I was kept up by the first years on coffee previous nights, I fell asleep in the Common Room and Mallory took that opportunity to stick a bird and other random things into my hair, which I discovered the next morning. I'm really quite naffed off that I let him provoke me so much that, yes, I punched him.

Ah, that should explain why some girls were talking about the girl with a bird hair. I apologise for not being able to talk to you about it sooner. As it is, I have no intention of taking any points from you or give you detention as Carmichael deserved that. I also don't think you're the sort of person to randomly throw around punches like my dormmates. Would you like me to have a talk with him?

It's all right-- new responsibilities and seventh year in general are known to cut into one's spare time. But yes, that's what happened. I really do appreciate you not taking points over it because it would be galling to tarnish my school record on behalf of MALLORY of all people. But I really don't think that there will be a repeat of this situation, so you don't need to talk to him. I appreciate the offer, though.

Again, I'm sorry if this has added on to any other aggravation you've dealt with this week.

It's fine. This is one of the situations that I would actually prefer dealing with.

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how often we drum in the rules and through whatever various means, they still continue to be broken.

I used to think it was something normal but seeing it from another perspective now surprises me slightly.

Perhaps it is a type of self-selective amnesia?

There has to be some sort of antidote for that.

But where's the fun in that? I'm quite enjoying all the violence that's going on so far this year.

You fail to understand how tiresome harmful violence is.

What an awful lot of work it sounds like you've got on your hands as Head Boy, Yaxley! You know, if you ever tire of it --
