Oh no, I totally agree, and have the same feeling.
Geocities was good fun in its time, but its time passed quickly and the Yahoo purchase all but killed it before the dot com bust. It was one of the first major "user agreement" fubars that made big media over content ownership changes, and then when places like Xoom and the rest popped up - who wanted to pay $5 for a measly 5mb website?!
Oh those were halcyon interwebular days and they were only a decade or so ago.

I think I did used to have a geocities website, way, way back when. it's strange to think it might not be lurking forever? oh well.
