I wasn't gonna post tonight but Dustin is still awake so....here's a post.

That friend's cut is coming over the weekend.

If you're looking for some friend making things, see a couple of things below. I recommend the second one. It's different and fun...

Not sure how helpful this is, but I remember reading in an article that one way to ensure you eat healthy portions is to ask the waiter to box up half of your meal before they even serve it to you. Maybe you could do the same with Dustin when he has to start ordering off the regular menu?

I never thought about that. It's worth a shot. Thanks for the input.

You can also ask for the lunch-sized portion (even thought it's not lunchtime), since those are smaller than the dinner portions. But they still charge you the dinner price.

I do that at a couple of restaurants but at this particular one, their lunch portions are even huge. Their burgers and such. They have a wonderful Monday thru Friday soup and sandwich lunch but you can only get it until like 4 pm and we were there after that time.

Bummer.

It is partly the meds or mostly the meds that messes with his appetite. He eats every hour on the hour. We cannot keep food in this house.

Hm... about Dusting: Sometimes even I still eat "kids menue" because I'm not a big eater at all... but some restaurants won't give the kids menue to "adults"... some will... so it's hard to say what you can do... *hugs*

I wish I had suggestions... maybe in the future you can ask for a "half menue" or just explain that he doesn't eat much normally?

I mean, that's what i do and I mostly wouldn't be able to finish a "whole" menu, so I know what you mean... *crosses fingers for you* Hopefully others here will have good advice for you!

Yeah, I do know some adults that order off the adult menu. This restaurant has free kids meals though where other places charge like 3 or 4 dollars for them. This is my issue. They don't think it's fair that he eats for free when he isn't 10 or under. I agree but I am lost in what to do.

I tried explaining that he doesn't eat anything and we still got the meal for free but for the future, I don't know.

Thanks for the advice.

Honestly-I used to wait tables and we had adults order off the kids menu frequently. As long as they aren't the only person eating-many places will overlook it.

I also think the suggestion of boxing up half the food isn't bad. Or depending on what Dustin likes to eat-appetizers are sometimes a good choice because they are generally cheaper and contain a little less food than a meal.

I think the waitress overlooked it but the greeter that seated us did not. We still got it for free and this place has them for free. Others don't.

Appetizers are a good suggestion though. I'll mention it to my husband and see what he thinks. The less hassle the better.
