A personal achievement day! I maxed out my squat bar. I have more plates, but they won't fit on. Had to finish up the work out holding onto the extra plates. Felt kind of ridiculous. What started off with just 20 lbs a few months ago is now it's on stupid lbs ( Read more... ) -
On Parenthood

Just got back from checking out Xtreme Coture. It was a really nice place. Best training facility I have ever seen. Weights, hot yoga rooms, fully loaded cross fit area, an octagon, a full size ring and a huge padded area for what ever else ( Read more... ) -
Allergy Test Results
A late update but we have the results on Liam’s allergy results. His skin tests looked like negatives, but the doctor suggested a blood test just to be sure. Well it turns out he’s severely allergic to nuts and eggs then somewhat allergic to milk. It’s going to be hard to fatten up this boy. Mr Baby
Liam is such a little boy now. Watching him run around with all the other kids is bitter sweet. He definitely learns the fastest watching other kids play. He knows how to climb structures and go down the slide by himself. Took him mere minutes to figure out the buttons in the water play ground work ( Read more... ) -

Week 3 of Kettlebell Training
I upgraded to two 25s, so Julie now uses two 15s. We did a leg circuit and she fared a lot better than I did. I'm actually quite impressed by that. Even I found swinging 30lbs to be challenging. Kettlebells are just so easy to underestimate until you pick one up and then another. -

I finally started swinging kettlebells. Been wanting to try them out for years, but I found them a bit expensive to add to my home gym. On average they go for $2 a lb. The lowest I've seen them are $1.50 a lb. However I saw an ad in Kijiji for $1.30 a lb so I checked them out. By the time I got there the weights I wanted were sold out. That quarter pound was tough to lose. I knew I should have said no to that marble strawberry cheese cake. I was doing so well too. Earlier in the week I turned down black forest cake, two carrot cakes and a tiramisu! Tiramisu for crying out loud, who turns down tiramisu ( Read more... ) -
193lbs!
I promised myself never to hit or come close to 200+lbs ever again. So that 193lbs was a wake up call. The weight just creeped up on me. I'm not that inactive, I take the stairs at work, walk the dogs and I've been running 4km twice a week on a fairly regular basis. Guess I was eating more than I was burning.
