Well, in college once I had a friend who was a born-again Christian. He was super mega hardcore Christian (but not in a negative way... he was a cool guy.) He said he was raised without any religion at all and discovered it in high school. I asked him if he wished he had been baptized as a baby, and he said no, it was much more exciting for him to discover it on his own. So there you go. :)
It's best when they're young because the program is integrated into the school system. Basically if he doesn't get baptized he can't attend the Catholic school. I guess if it doesn't happen now, he can pursue any religion on his own once he gets older.
I don't know I just feel kind of betrayed by the people running the church. It's mostly because the priest we spent the most time with who knew us for 10+ years, performed our marriage and baptized my nephew retired.

We'll raise him well and hopefully he'll find something that he can follow.
