Ok, I was looking for something quick to read with my breakfast and this breakfast table conversation definitely filled the bill (though I had to be careful not to spit tea all over the keyboard at Amy *headdesking*.) I also particularly liked:
"The point is, you were young and didn't know any better. You've learned your lesson and will be much more careful in the future when making advances on strangers, yes?" Amy nods, wondering when River took control of this conversation and why she would've expected her to do anything else.

And, and, I absolutely loved your ending: Amy can't help but ask, "This is the worst conversation we're ever going to have. Right?"

"Definitely!" River chirps, retrieving bread from a cupboard.

". . . Are you lying?"

"Definitely."

Amy lays her forehead back down on the breakfast table and groans.
*gigglesnort* Thanks for this!

Oh, your icon! Hahahaha! Sorry, got distracted for a mo'.

I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this story so much and it added to the experience of your breakfast! I'm also really happy to see the parts in particular that grabbed you best. The image of Amy headdesking was so clear in my head, I had to include it and so it's wonderful to hear that it caused such a big reaction in you. Thank you for taking the time to read and leave me a lovely comment. I really enjoy the feedback. :D

Why, oh why did I not read this earlier? This is the single best thing to come out of the AGMGTW reveal. You have no idea how sexy your brain is right now. I'd tell you, but I'm worried you'll turn out to be a relative.

Wow, thank you! You know my reaction to the reveal was extremely negative (and is still not positive) so this helped me deal with the reveal by writing this and therefore, I'm glad that it could help you the same way. After writing this and then with a review from another reader to the story Timely Favours, I think I'm actually going to write something somewhat similar to this as a sequel to Timely Favours. I don't know whether or not I'll try to connect it through a line or two with this story (some part of me finds it hilarious that River would have to deal with having this type of conversation with BOTH her parents). Essentially, how does Rory deal with the memory of River pseudo-kissing him in Timely Favours after he finds out she's his daughter at Demon's Run. I imagine he'd call her out on it. Maybe when under stress like in the middle of an adventure. Because he doesn't seem good at repressing things. I'm actually really looking forward to writing that one and have most of it in my head right now. Oh, fanfic. How did people ( ... )

You know, the idea of River being Amy and Rory's daughter, while initially disappointing, was actually by far the easiest part of the AGMGTW reveal for me to get used to. The only thing about it that continues to worry me is that it really raises the chances that Amy and Rory will never get to raise their own child and the stresses it will probably put on the relationship between them and the Doctor. When it provides fodder for HILARIOUS FIC, though, it makes me very happy. Of course, I've been writing them and thinking about them all with a family dynamic for a long, long time, albeit a slightly shuffled-around one. What episodes with River and the Ponds I've gone back and watched again since AGMGTW, I've actually been surprised how little the reveal changes my perceptions of what's going on because they all felt like family already to me and that was the important bit. The stuff from the reveal that really threw me and I'm finding it harder to accept and adjust to is all to do with Doctor/River and with River having a timehead ( ... )

Thank you very much! I am very happy to hear that. Out of all of Team TARDIS, I feel the least secure when writing Amy. So to hear that her voice worked for you here thrills me to no end. Thank you for reading and replying. :D

First, I am sorry it has taken me this long to reply to your review. That was inexcusable. Secondly, I'm so happy that you liked this story! The humor of this situation was definitely one of the things that helped me deal with the reveal of AGMGTW. I'm glad you enjoyed it as well. Thank you very much for reading and replying (and sorry again for my lateness).

Sorry, sorry, sorry for being so late in replying to you. It seems like I'm developing a bad habit with the internet. Your reply to my story just completely thrilled me. I'm so flattered that you felt it was such a good post-AGMGTW story. I had a really hard time with the reveal in that episode and writing this fanfic was one of the things that helped me start to deal with it. So I'm very happy when others enjoy it as well. (And I'm delighted that you liked how River was unsure whether or not her future self let things go too far! The unpredictable nature of her and the Doctor and Amy is something I love about those characters and what makes them so fun, IMO.) Thank you very much for reading and leaving me such kind words. I really appreciate it!
