"How long do you think this can go on?" Kovarian asks. "How long can you run from what you are? Melody Pond. The woman who kills the Doctor."

River Song smiles and checks her watch. "As long as I have to."

That's it in a nutshell, isn't it? I really like the way you've shown this as all sort of fun and madcap, when all the while there's the bittersweet undertone of River knowing exactly where she's heading, and what will happen there. Ow.

Your response to the story here is exactly what I was going for, so it's so thrilling to know it worked for you like I intended. I wanted to capture that 'sort of fun and madcap' bit that River often uses (and really, the Doctor does as well, doesn't he?) to cover up when she feels things are going to be very, very bad.

It was an interesting little world Moffat gave us to work in, here. Where everything is happening at once. I enjoyed playing in it a bit.

Thank you again!

Oh, loved it. A beautiful little gem. Your River is most amazing.

This fic was truly lovely, such River insight packed in just a few situations. I just loved your portrayals of Kennedy and Cleopatra, and your use of the watch, and the lipstick. All that hallucinogetic kissing. You can tell she's having fun. I also loved the way you played with the idea of time not moving, and how very aware she was of that - and of its being her fault. My favourite line must have been the pterodactyls one… I'm afraid it says a lot about me ;) (gosh, now I'm quoting Living Legend without realizing. THIS says a lot about me, it just does. Oops)
