I'm in debt to you--it was in your LJ that I first heard the news and that I first heard of the Scubies' memorial, and of course your tribute today was a wonderful examination of her contributions, which taught me much I hadn't known about her. I hope that new readers will continue to find her work and to love it as much as I do; that's a way I would like to be remembered.

Thanks for your memorial. I didn't know Nan or have any contact with her except for reading a few of her insightful posts. She certainly seems to have been a wonderful person.

Yes,from what little I knew of her, she was. I think she'd like to be known and remembered through her stories, and they are a wonderful reflection on her . . . as are her responses to the comments on them. I'm hoping her LJ stays up for a while; I don't know what the LJ policy is about an account going "dormant," which is why I made the comment that I've copied her WIP. (I don't know if the Soulful Spike Society would archive that with her finished work or not, but I cherish having even that much more of Nan, and she wrote it especially to thank fandom for helping her through some tough times, so it has additional resonance for me. Plus, her Spike and Dawn friendship is as rich as her Spike and Buffy passion, and I love that.)
