I know how you feel. I too have very fond memories of canning together. That's why McCall and I want to come home this fall and can applesauce. I love being in the hot kitchen surrounded by smells and a methodic job to do, with time to talk and nothing to stop that. You're one of my favorite people in the whole world, you know :)

Plus, you know, the best cinnamon applesauce and tomato juice ever.

Miss you.

Oye, the peach season is fleeting!! I realized I REALLY like doing peaches, because you have this wonderful lump of fruit in your hand and all you need to do is slip the scalded skin off, pop it in half, remove the pit and you still have this wonderful lump of fruit!! So much volume - so little effort and oh, so yummy.
