Medical School
I just submitted my applications to medical schools! Thank you to everyone who helped to proofread and revise the essay. Now I sit back and wait for secondary applications to roll in. I also have four recommendation letters in the process of being written by some highly-educated, wonderful people. In the meantime, I need to read up on some Calculus ( Read more... ) -
Smile Train
Due to a successful trip to San Francisco, $85 has been donated to The Smile Train. This is enough to cover anesthesia and sutures for one cleft surgery. It wasn't as much as I was hoping for, but it's a start. Thank you to everyone who donated and if anyone would still like to make a donation, we are still $165 short of a complete surgery. I received a letter yesterday from the University of Cincinnati which began: "Congratulations! You have been selected to receive a Cincinnati Pathways Scholarship for attendance at the University of Cincinnati beginning autumn 2008. . . So far $0 has been donated to Smile Train. I set the deadline for Sunday, June 8, so we better get moving. I can't make this donation alone - not on a student's salary. I can donate $25; can you? Book review
Just a quick note to say that I saw the much anticipated Dangerous Alphabet, the new picture book by Neil Gaiman and Gris Grimly. I was not impressed. At all. This was supposed to be so cool. At least in my mind it was. But the writing is uninspired (was his head really in it with all the other works he's been writing?) and the pictures are so-so. ( Read more... ) -

Book Signing (reprint from Blogger)
The book signing at Cincinnati State College went extremely well! All the books sold out and orders were taken to be filled later. This makes up for the disappointing signing last week at Sitwell's.
