Everyman, Day 4

I figure I'll put my regular reports behind cuts, so that if I actually include something of substance in a post, people who don't care about my sleep experiment might actually read it.

i feel really ignorant, but is it possible to stop feeling tired when you're only sleeping 4 hours a day, and not even together? at school, i could only keep that up for 1 week at a time before either killing my roommate or crashing on the weekend or oversleeping massively or missing a firedrill.

The important thing actually is that the sleeptime is broken up. Sleeping four hours a night, and that's it, wouldn't be enough sleep, and you'd drive yourself crazy. But taking regular short naps does two things-- (1) they're more efficient than longer sleeps, once your body gets used to them, and (2) they mean that you only have to stay awake for 5 hours at a time, rather than 16-20. So your body gets a chance to recharge and refresh itself after going for just 5 hours, rather than having to slog through a whole day and not being able to process it all once you do sleep.
