The Lying Game, Why Castiel’s conflict avoidance created more conflict, and the fucked up dynamic of family.

My thoughts regarding Destiel, the Great Betrayal, and why this was avoidable.

My thoughts, let me show you them. )

You should really put this behind an LJ-cut.

To be fair, I think Dean and Sam also share a bit of the burden. During the entirety of the season the only times they called for Cas was so he could help them with their problems and never once thanked him for helping them. (Sam might have, but I'm pretty sure Dean never did)

Mostly, I just hated how Dean played the "we're family" card in 6.20, quickly rescinded it the next episode, then played it again when it was too late in the finale. I mostly spent this season wanting to punch Dean, which is weird because he was and still is my favourite character.

I do agree that what Cas did was wrong but I do sympathize with him. IDK I've talked my head off about the finale and am secretly excited for new god!Cas in the next season.

Oh yeah, I've got an entire book of issues to write down in regards to Dean and Sam's behaviour in S6. They are not entirely blameless. This was kind of just the result of a twitter conversation I had regarding Cas' side of the story.

I have a lot of feelings about how everyone has been treating each other and the plot lines that have been left behind and the weird places the new ones seem to be going and just. I will see it through to the end, and I will always love Cas, but I am going to just live in S5 for now until my cries simmer down.

A-FUCKING-MEN TO THAT. You do not want to know about the huge ass Tumblr essay I wrote about this finale which basically boils down to: CAS WOULDN'T BE THIS WAY IF SAM AND/OR DEAN HAD JUST GIVEN HIM THAT HUG.

I have a really weird relationship with S6 in that while it doesn't have the same... fire? (IDK) as the previous seasons I did enjoy it overall. I still consider S5 as the final season with S6 as a bonus.

I WILL BE SO MAD IF THEY KILL OFF CAS, AT LEAST NOT IF THEY DID IT BEFORE HE AND THE BOYS COULD FINALLY HUG IT OUT.
