Clarification

I'm not entirely sure if it's been the weather, or lack of cigarette smoke from the other half of a shared room, but my thoughts seem a lot clearer lately. Gone are the days when I feel as though I'm spending my waking hours in a fog. Vocabulary seems to be easier to access, and upon considering that topic, I recalled a quote. Not entirely sure ( Read more... )

Personally, I don't swear often in real life because I like to have something to say when I'm really, genuinely pissed off. If all you can do is just say them louder and chain them together, that kind of loses something.

I'm not sure if it's a holdover from being a teenager, or having friends who still think they're teenagers. (Topic of a whole other post there) I never much thought about it, it really just sort of became the norm for me. And they're not usually used in an anger inducing situation, either. "That's {profanity} awesome!" "Where did I put my {profanity} phone?", "How many times did you watch that {profanity} movie?" Oddly enough, when I'm at work, I can turn it off like a switch. I still don't get that one.

I think lately I've been concerned about appearing to be a mature, intelligent adult. I think it's time I start talking like one.

Why do you seem to think that every one of my entries is "whiny"? If that's really what these all look like, I'll just stop wasting your time by posting what are aparrently sad little emo posts. I wasn't complaining that I've never met you people, I was just stating a simple fact. Now hush before I punt you instead of the Taru! ^^

What's worse is people tend to use curse words to "Smurf" their vocabulary. They know the actual word, but don't want to use it because Smurf is so much easier.

*Shudder*
I've seen cartoons where the Smurfs are talking in smurf to cover up their own profanity, but I've never run into anyone who talks like THAT before, and I sure as heck hope it stays that way.

well, i mean "replacing actual words with generic, less defined words". like people using "Shit" or it's variants instead of words like "Kidding", "Stuff", or "entertainment" or whatever.

Why do I always read things so literally? >.>
Symptom of foot-in-mouth disease, I suppose.

But now that I more clearly understand what you're talking about, well, I really can't stand that either. They don't need to use their brains to use the Smurf words, and we all know how popular being lazy is!

"Like, um, we all like went to the movies and stuff and like did some other stuff and like totally had fun!"
Makes my ears bleed.
