It has been pouring all day. The storm sewers (do we have storm sewers?) can't handle it and there is a fantastic puddle at the stoplight by my apartment. I am one egg short for the carrot souffle (missy's recipe) that I am making for our thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. So I'm waiting for the pumpkin bread to finish so that I can run to the store. I thought that I was going to be behind in my stats class since I missed it last Thursday. Turns out the instructor was sick too. Suddenly I am ahead instead of behind. Nothing like a stupid virus to slow me down. I took off monday in hopes of thwarting this cold, but no such luck. I have bugs in my tea drawer. I was tipped off when I discovered what resembled a fuzzy a weevil in a pot from a nearby cabinet (well what I call a weevil...those larva looking bugs that add protein to pancakes). I have enrolled in a stats class which apparently starts tomorrow. That seemed like a better idea a month ago than it does now. I already don't have time to clean house, work out, do devotions, breathe (watch the olympics, democratic convention, read a book): all things that are important on varying levels. Picking blackberries is therapeutic. Prosser reminds me of home, except that what would be foothills simply give way to the columbia basin. I can pretend for a moment, breathe in the cool evening air, watch the sun set over green fields, and pretend to be home.

Went camping near Rainier with friends from church this past weekend. It was great. I went up early with two other people to save a site and it was a good thing that we did because the campground that we planned on staying at was completely reserved. I am looking at the month of July and pretty much want to crawl into a hole. US retreat, 2 days at home. 4th of July, 0 days at home. Pokey, 1 day at home. HPS meeting, 5-6 days at home.
