I love green tea. It's my new favorite thing.

At a subway on Friday after receiving my sandwich I asked for stamps to only have a sign pointed out to me which had clearly been up for a while as the "sub club" stamp plan ended in late July. Navy overload. I think I care too much. A lot of people seem to be all about "good enough" or they don't seem to care. I can see why that attitude would grow because it would make getting by without being miserable easier. I'm beginning to realize that there simply are not enough hours in the day to do everything you need to do.

I just got back form attending my first Brazilian Jujistsu (BJJ) class with Carlos Valente, one of the legends in the BJJ world. He grew up with the Gracies in Brazil and has traveled and competed all over the world spreading BJJ. The class was great and I'm excited to have the opportunity to go back ( Read more... )

Been a busy morning but I've finally finished unpacking my stuff. Our household goods arrived late Sunday and I reported to the ship on Monday. Tovah was a trooper and unpacked all the house items and waited for me to get home to go through my stuff. Back in port for a little while. Living on a ship really puts things in perspective. There's so much to talk about but I'd never have the time. I'm mixed in with the wardroom well (wardroom = the officers). I live in a 3-man berthing, so three of us in a space one-third the size of a normal dorm room. For shipboard life, it is spacious. Wow, the comic-con was awesome. Overwhelming really. Too much to see and do in only a day. Sadly, since I'm not a major comic book guy I wasn't able to fully appreciate everything that was there. I also found out I go to sea this Monday. ^_^ Totally nervous.

There has been delay after delay with moving into our new apartment (the carpets needed cleaning, etc). I'm so sick of sinking money into a hotel and Tovah and I are becoming irritable in this stasis. The landlord seems cool though and is going to reimburse me some of the hotel costs.
