I’ve done it.  Close to, at least.  I’ve found the exact strands of DNA, the genetic sequences that need to be taken out or redone or replaced-whatever I want.  I can mix them with the DNA of separate creatures, and it’s working.  It’s beautiful, alchemy-joining things together and making something new and better.  It’s still tricky work, ( Read more... )

He turned his eyes skyward to find that there was no sky to speak of; he could only see the mammoth brick buildings to either side stretching up taller than his gaze could follow, and beyond that was a dark blanket of smog that caught the light of the city below.  He could tell it was night, but the moon and the stars were all hidden from view.
