Wait a sec, there's about a dozen UNIT soldiers surrounding Axos and yet Jo STILL got inside with no resistance at all? ...Well okay then. That's how awesome she is. *grins* Just kidding. I'm yet to see this serial, and I've read the novelization ages ago, so I won't say as much about this as I usually do for others, I'm afraid.
One thing I can say, though. Recently, a group of Doctor Who podcasters got together and made a song called Bring Back Confidential (very strongly inspired in Doctor in Distress, but way less scary to my sensitive brain, for some reason I can't explain) to accompany a petition about the BBC cancelling Doctor Who Confidential, and they were able to get Bernard Holley (the male Axon, who had also played Haydon in Tomb of the Cybermen) to voice Axos again for that song.
I'm also becoming increasingly convinced that he represents some sort of political allegory, but I can't think of any events to link it to.He's actually yet another stab at obnoxious bureaucrats Doctor Who was so fond of making in the Pertwee

Ah, such is the power of fandom. I've yet to hear this song, but I must check it out somewhere.
It's been a while since I saw The Sea Devils. Was he that officer who was even worse than the Brig in the "I WILL SHOOT AT IT!" department when it came to random oddities that made no sense to puny human minds?
Seeds of Doom is a rare serial I'd misconstrued as a famously bad story thanks to a post about its music on TV Tropes, but I've heard a lot of good things about it since then.
I didn't listen to the Axos commentary, but I own The Invasion DVD so I'll probably check that out at some point. I was actually surprised they didn't mention the panty shot in the Infotext for Axos, because they usually point out that kind of thing.
The officer in The Sea Devils was actually a decent guy who started helping Three and Jo as soon as he realized they were serious. The bureaucrats of this era are all, by rule, civil servants with more authority than sense, and in the case of Sea Devils the role fell on Walker, who cared more about stuffing his face than in investigating; he decided to bomb the Sea Devils because he couldn't be bothered to interrupt his meal to do some thinking, and when things got tough he hid in the cupboard and let the others do all the work.
Oh, the Invasion commentary is glorious, as Nick Courtney and Frazer Hines team up to do the knicker count - granted, Frazer did most of it, but I remember Nick going "Ooh, bum! ...sorry." when Zoe's skirt went up while she was in the sewers. I also remember him getting rather shocked when Katy Manning said something about "Jon's botty" in the Three Doctors commentary.
I'm pretty sure I've done other Bed Intruder parodies in these commentaries, but I don't remember exactly where.
One of my favorite publicity shots from The Daemons that I see going around Tumblr every once in a while is Benton standing over Delgado!Master while pointing a gun at him and looking like Danny from Grease with a haircut. I'm interested to see how that works out in the actual serial.
I think we can all agree that the Master gets increasingly more camp after Delgado. You've got Ainley with his dildo, Roberts with his "I always drezzzzzzz for the occasion," Simm with his dancing...
Must...not...spoil...anything about Benton...from...the Daemons... (I actually really don't like the Daemons, but I'm in the minority about that, and, on the other hand, I think it's the only time we ever see Benton in civvies. Which is not to say it's the only time we ever see him out of uniform *ahem*)
It is definitely a progression of camp. What about Purves/Beevers? Actually...I don't think you've seen that Master yet. Hmmm. Does Jacobi count?
I loved Simm's dancing. But Delgado really will always be my favorite.
Ah yes, I've heard about Unexpected Naked Benton in The Time Monster...
As for the Master, I still haven't seen The Deadly Assassin (although I hear great things about it), but I have seen Beeves!Master in The Keeper of Traken. Personally, I think it's a little difficult for zombies to really be "camp." And this is coming from someone who's see a movie about gay zombies. I guess Jacobi counts too because when he opens the fob watch we get quite the Incoming Ham.

Named after his chin? Wow. I think you may be on to something there.
He's climbin' out your Axos, 'n shootin' your soldiers up... #hideyourdoctors #hideyourjos #cosheszappinerrebodyouthere
...is probably the single most epic tweet I have ever seen. Thank you. Thank you so much.
On a completely unrelated note, I love that "Action by Havoc" is an actual credit on this show.
Oh good, it's not just me. :D
So, why exactly are the Axons communicating with Three and Jo through a '70s music video?
Hahahahaha! Maybe they've been monitoring our communications.
GEE, I SURE HOPE THAT MYSTERIOUS UNIT OFFICIAL WITH HIS FACE HIDDEN ISN'T THE MASTER BECAUSE *THAT* WOULD BE *BAD.*
WOULDN'T IT JUST?
And then the Master tossed him his laser gun so Benton can cuff him. This day is looking up for UNIT!
I love the few brief moments we get in the show of Benton vs. the Master. I had forgotten about this one.
Hah, Master tries to make his escape but then Three's ( ... )
