In a horrible brain fart I left a plastic bag of rotini on top of an electric burner (top left), I then made pasta on the bottom right. Well, it apparently was hot enough to melt the plastic and burn some noodles on to the burners.
How do I clean melted plastic off the burners/is it safe to let the wire thing soak?

Having had a couple of similar adventures, this is the best solution I've found:
Step 1: Peel/chip off as much plastic as you can (though I assume you've done this already). Check whether plastic dripped through into the drip tray underneath, & clean as much of that as possible, as well. (This is the point where you either thank your lucky stars that you put tinfoil underneath, or vow to do so in the future.)
Step 2: Try putting some (acetone-based) nail polish remover on the plastic. (Remember that acetone is highly flammable!) If the plastic is soluble in acetone, it will soften. Check whether the acetone affects any other parts of the element/burner. If it all seems okay, take the element off the stove, wrap acetone-soaked paper towels around the affected areas, and put the whole thing in a (non-acetone soluble) plastic bag for a while. (If ( ... )

I also figured out it wasn't completely my fault, that burner it was on had a vent to the oven that brought up heat when I used the oven. Note, that is the only vent with it. Der. I would have been fine if I had only used the burners.

Knowing that the oven vents there could be useful in the future. A good place to keep things warm, for instance (though perhaps rather too warm)...
