I see what you're saying with the tonal shift, and even so, I feel like the Shit has't really Gotten Real for Bilbo yet. On a last note: the riddle scene was pretty much the best thing ever. How it was expanded to show riddles as a way to distract and bring out Smeagol over Gollum was excellently done, and of course the way they played off each other was brilliant. And you can't help but feel for Gollum, pathetic, devious, brilliant Gollum.AGREE SO HARD on both these points. those particular moments with the dwarves hit me right in the feels, man. and james nesbitt was really great as bofur. when he says "i wish you all the luck in the world," i was like "i'm not crying, there's just, like, a twig in my eye or something. shut up leave me alone!!!" he was so sincere and UGHHHH I LOVE HIM. new favorite dwarf ( ... )
