I went to the Eddie Izzard show last night!

And I am very tired, and possibly sick, considering how many people sneezed on me. But I will say, it was at the Alabama Theatre, which is a gorgeous old-fashioned show-palace theater built in the '20s, and was lit to great effect for the occasion: ( Read more... )

How fun! I saw Eddie Izzard's Sexy show in Boston in college and it was amazing - that man is just a delight all around. At this point I mostly just remember bits about dinosaurs and Wikipedia, but some hiccup with the tickets meant I missed the launch party of a magazine I helped to start and still decided it was worth it.

The Maledictio looks so pretty on you! Kind of a rose gold tone which I feel like you don't see in lip colors as much as I'd wish. Thanks to you, I got a couple of the Primavera colors - an eyeshadow and the Caritas lip which I'm completely smitten with !

Yes! I'm going to drive down with some friends to see him in Fort Smith, Arkansas (I live in Fayetteville) in a couple of weeks and I swear all we keep saying is "I can't believe he's coming to Fort Smith, why is Eddie Izzard coming to Fort Smith, we don't even care but THIS IS AWESOME."

Back in June, he came to Portland with the same tour, and we went. I would have enjoyed it more had I not been in a car accident 2 weeks prior, but it was great. The guy guiding people to their seats kept yelling at us "No pictures!"

Holy shit, he's going to be in New Orleans on Wednesday. I wish I'd known sooner. I saw him years ago in San Francisco, when I still lived in the Bay Area. I'm about halfway between Houston and NOLA, so it's not like there are NO opportunities to see live acts, but I still feel like a lot of the kinds of stuff I like to see/listen to tend to skip the Deep South. I mean there are tons of options if you like jazz or country, but not so much if you're a now solidly middle-aged former late '80s/early '90s goth.
