I definitely need some kind of better filter, because the one I've got keeps getting clogged up with algae even though I clean it every week. It'd be nice to be able to siphon the water directly into the sink, but yeah, I think it's too far from the tank to the tap.

Which reminds me, it's "take two buckets out and put two buckets in" day today. I really need to take the whole thing apart and put in an undergravel filter, but I'm too lazy to do all that work.

I don't have an undergravel filter, I just have my power filter and regular water changes.

If you decide to go after a new filter or a siphon kit, ebay, all the way. I would have saved 10 or 15 bucks getting my siphon on Ebay but I wasn't feeling terribly patient.
