Pico's (and My) Ordeal

On Sunday, April 25, 2010, I left home about 3:00 in the afternoon to go over to my brother's house for a meal.  When I left, all the dogs were standing in front of the garage wishing they could go too.  When I returned at 6:30, all the dogs but one were waiting to greet me.  When I walked into the garage, Pico came out from behind the pickup truck

I'm so sorry to hear that but glad he's okay.. how terrible. :( You are an amazing owner (4-5 grand is A LOT) and I just know he loves you even more for it.

:( That breaks my heart. Scares me too. I have a rottie/pit mix that looks scary, but he's sweet as can be. It terrifies me what could happen if he were to accidentally get out of our fence or door and he runs into the wrong person.

I'm glad Pico was able to pull through. I once interned with a vet clinic and saw some horrendous things that people inflicted on the animals, and due to our location, we were not always able to save them :/

I'm really glad you posted the update. I'd been wondering when or if you were going to and how Pico-pup was doing. Is his jaw healed and there's no pain in eating anymore?

He's eating fine--solid food. He always had a good appetite, but I used to try to put a little weight on him. Now, with his lower level of activity, I'm trying to keep him from putting on weight.

I'm so glad he is okay now. People can be real jerks. I have had to deal with a guy that sprayed pepper spray through my fence at Pyrate. It damaged his left eye so badly that he can't see very well at all through that eye. If I only had an eye witness I would shoot the guy that did it but I can't prove he did it. I just know in my heart he did it. Glad that you were able to get such a good vet for Pico.
