June 2012 Trip to the Southwest 1: Trains & New Mexico

On June 21, I boarded Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited (in a "roomette"). The next day in Chicago I boarded Amtrak's Southwest Chief (in a "room") and arrived in Albuquerque the next day. Stayed in Albuquerque Saturday night and drove to Scottsdale AZ on Sunday. Here are some photos:

Boston to Chicago: Noon - Overnight - Arrive in the city of my birth early afternoon (2 hours late).
About 3+ hours in Chicago.
Late afternoon - Overnight - Late afternoon arrival in Albuquerque.
