Giant water lilies! I've wanted to hitch a ride on one ever since I saw one at the botanical gardens in Oxford. Those things are so cool! (And the babies are cute, yeah :)

You make me want to read Tamora Pierce books but I wouldn't know where to start.

I would start with the Lioness Quartet (the first one, chronologically and published) with starts with... Alanna: The First Adventure. And after that quartet I would probably move on right onto Protector of the Small (starting with First Test), which I think is the best of the Tortall books. The new series, starting with Terrier is pretty good, too. There are also the Circle of Magic books, but I couldn't get into them.

Still LOLing at your very apt Kushiel books description. XD

If I'd have to pick between cats and dogs, I'd go for rodents.

YEAH! Also, mongooses are cool! I've really liked them ever since I read Rikki-Tikki-Tavi :)

Prince of Egypt is such a beautiful movie! And the songs are very catchy -- I was, totally randomly, singing "You're Playing with the Big Boys Now" ( ... )

I'm also still really proud of my Kushiel description. XD

The Prince of Egypt is totally a beautiful movie! So much scenery porn! (Especially the parting of the Red Sea was really awesome) It also made me like Moses, but I guess that's because they removed all his not-so-nice moments. :P
The songs were so cool. I especially liked it when the children sing a song of praise for God in Hebrew. For a second there I wanted to learn Hebrew. XD
I was psyched when I learned DreamWorks had made another 2D movie, Joseph: King of Dreams, but it was a straight-to-video movie and therefore not much in the animation department. Which is just sad.

I should check out some Anthony Horowitz books!
Oh, I thought they were amazing but if L is a real girly girl she might not like them, because they have this... grimy feel about them. I mean, they're hilarious (horror comedy, mostly) but sort of gritty. But mostly comedy.

But if she's okay with stories like that, you'll be fine!
I first started with the Groosham Grange books, when I was like nine, which ( ... )

The children (and Ofra Haza) singing in Prince of Egypt was beautiful! And, ooh, the parting of the Red Sea animation -- all those fishes you see through the walls of water -- yeah, that was awesome! Yeah, Joseph King of Dreams wasn't nearly as good...

Thank you for the rundown on Anthony Horowitz! :D Ah, Alex Rider, that's why his name was familiar! I think Granny might be the best bet to start with L. I shall try to dig it up! (She rejects my recommendations, like, 4 times out of 5, so there's no guarrantee she'll agree to go along with it. But maybe I'll read it myself if she balks :P)

I've actually never even heard of the Edgeworld books, but black-haired YA!Tywin intrigues me! *adds to list*

Yeah, I'm going to look into Ofra Haza because she really had an amazing voice.

Haha, I'm still miffed about the Joseph movie. According to my mum it was her favourite story from the Quran because her grandfather always told it to her (and she thought Joseph was supercool and pretty, LOL) so it's sorta special to me.

Yeah, mind you, it's been a while since I read those books. Also, they're really fantasy as in they're on crack. But pretty original crack. :D

Yeah, I kinda slapped myself on the head for that one, but it was my fault, I just couldn't wait for the library to have the third book so I just picked up the fourth one. XD

(Btw, I totally love your Shigure/Fruitsbasket icons. I must've missed that icon post *goes to check it out*)
