Rules for Club Leaders
Inactivity: If leaders do not make a substantive club post twice a month, they will be given a first warning on the Weekly Roundup and receive a message from the Clubs Mods. If they have not posted something or provided the Clubs Mods with a good reason for their lack of posting by the next Weekly Roundup, they will be placed on probation and must post two (2) activities for the next three (3) months or they will be removed from their post.
Disputes: If a leader has a problem that he or she cannot remedy peacefully, he or she should please contact the
clubsmods. We recommend that both parties take screen captures for proof, if the situation is that serious. If a situation contains any offensive, rude, or rule-breaking comments, you need to freeze and screen the comments rather than delete them. In this case, you must contact
clubsmods to settle the dispute. We understand that you cannot catch every problem immediately, but do try to stop the argument as soon as possible and alert the Mods.
Cheating: Cheating includes sharing answers, collaborating unless specifically allowed by the activity guidelines, specifically looking for the answer key, abusing officials access to view answers, telling others to vote for you and telling others what entry is yours.
If a leader has caught a club member cheating, she or he should contact
clubsmods immediately. According to the
HiH Rules the member will be given a warning if she or he has broken the rules the first time. Each subsequent rule breaking will result in points deduction or banning.
If a leader has caught a club member voting for themselves, she or he should contact
clubsmods immediately and according to the
Clubs Leader Guide their vote should not be counted, their entry should be disqualified, and 10 points should be docked from their house.
Roster: You must update the roster every two weeks. This will help you and your members for participation in activities. We recommend you clean your roster at least once a term, and we request that you post a list whenever you remove inactive people. While roster clean up and the list of removed members are not required, we feel it will help keep your club happy and orderly. Also, if a member is not on your roster, he or she will not receive any bonus points for the activity. You will not be responsible for any backlash for this as it is a member's job to check your roster.
Bonus Items: If you would like to offer new bonus items for your club, you must contact
clubsmods for approval
here. After that,
clubsmods will unscreen and approve your comment and contact the Diagon Mod so that they can put it in the
System. If you want to offer something that currently does not exist in Diagon Alley, the Diagon Mod will think about adding an item. You can award no more than five bonus points per person per activity. While the cost of the items will vary, please be reasonable. One book for five bonus points is not comparable to three expensive items for the same bonus. We leave this to your discretion, but we retain the right to discuss lowering your points or standards if it becomes a problem.
FAQ, Club Leader Guide & HiH Official Rules: Club Leaders are also expected to read and comply with additional rules and processes as outlined in the
FAQ,
Club Leader Guide & nr. 5 to nr. 15 of the
HiH Official Rules.
Rules for all Club Members
Inactivity: If you are inactive in a club and removed from the roster, it is your responsibility to check before participating in new activities. If you do not receive your bonus points for an activity because you failed to check the roster, it is not the fault of the club leader.
Disputes: If a member has a problem with the leader and 1) doesn't feel comfortable addressing the leader directly, or 2) isn't satisfied with the leader's decision, contact the
clubsmods. As with the the leaders, we recommend that both parties take screen captures for proof, if the situation is that serious. Please note, however, that club leaders do have reign over their clubs and their rules. Unless leaders are in violation of the rules or are being particularly unresponsive, their decision will most likely be the final say.
Cheating: Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. This includes sharing answers, specifically looking for the answer key, collaborating unless specifically allowed by the activity guidelines, and abusing officials access to view answers. Voting fraud is also prohibited, including telling others to vote for you or identifying your entry to others.
According to the
HiH Rules the member will be given a warning if she or he has broken the rules the first time. Each subsequent rule breaking will result in points deduction or banning.
If you vote for yourself, according to the
Clubs Leader Guide your vote will not be counted, your entry will be disqualified, and 10 points shall be docked from your house.
Roster: While rosters are no longer mandatory to receive participation points, you must be on the roster to earn bonus points in club activities. It is your job to check the roster whenever you participate to be sure you haven't been removed in roster clean up.
Sigtags: Starting May 2019, when you use a sigtag in all activies you post in, you will receive 1 extra point for your house.
Club Leader Instructions: Members are expected to follow and comply with the instructions or additional rules put in place by the Club Leader regarding their membership or participation in club activities, provided said instructions or additional rules do not conflict with the official rules.
FAQ: All members are expected to have read and to comply with any additional rules or processes listed in the
FAQ.
If you have any questions or concerns about these rules, please leave a comment or send a message to
clubsmods.
All members are expected to have read and understood the rules. By joining a club, you are showing that you have done this. We will not tolerate complaints that include "but I didn't know it was a rule."
Because of the responsibilities associated with the position, anyone applying to be a Club Leader must specifically comment to this post indicating they have read and understood the rules listed.
