And so now I am officially no longer a civilian. I am a member of the United States Navy and will either be entering as an E3 Nuke Technician or an E1 Computer IT. You know what???

I am actually completely happy.

A nuke eh? Well well well... did your recruiter say you'd be going in as an ET, or did he say you'd "probably" get it?

my recruiter told me my A school would determine whether I go in as an ET or an MM or an EM but he told me with as awesome a test I had yesterday, I should be able to make ET no problem

cool - sounds like your recruiter is actually being honest. FYI I was a nuke ET myself. It was amazing how many people came to A school thinking their rating was guaranteed.

When do you go in? One thing to watch out for is you don't get paid until the end of boot camp. You'll be paid at E3 - which is nice - but if you have any monthly financial obligations make sure they're taken care of before you go in.

oh wow! you were nuke? i had no idea erika's dad was in the Navy. Did you like it? How was school? And no, I am going into A school with the mindset of "I'm giving it my everything" and if that gets me ET then I will be happy, but if it doesn't then an EM or an MM will do just fine. Like I was told today by an E4, "You guys are pretty much the 'Gods' of the Navy." You should talk to me online, I would love to speak with you about what all you did! Online=Pimpyg123 (talked to you a long time ago but haven't seen you on recently)
