Fuck Facebook

Seriously... this is killing what made the internet awesome in the first place. I don't know WHY idiots would want to give out their personal details and define their persona that strongly. I don't know why anybody want to read some of the boring data and metadata that people's lives are reduced to with hardly any emotional ( Read more... )

I'm the opposite with you here. I like using the Internet as a tool to link my online life with my social life, so I find facebook really useful. I'm fine with reducing my persona down to a few quotes and band names, it's only relevant to people who I have listed as friends (or in my case friends of friends) and chances are if they are looking at my profile, they know me, and thats all the context they need. For the reason given above though, the main things I use it is for event planning and storing/linking photos.

After WoW, random message boards, and messing around on IRC the anonymity that the Internet doesn't seem to offer me much.

i kinda jumped on the bandwagon when facebook started... I'm a bit skeptical about this adding 'new best friends' thing through the net that way. you occasionally have these randoms tryinig to add you and thats when i tell them where the lake is.

besides, you dont actually put your real details on the net anyway (eg. birthday dates). ppl who really knows you would know and if not will ask.

Its more like what zanken said, uploading photos XD

Screw facebook, just learn to adapt to new mannerisms. Gotta upgrade from a script kid to the real deal. This'll take time, money but mostly time.

I won't sign up for Facebook. I don't want to use a name that makes it easier for people to find me. Especially old school 'friends'. Everyone seems to be getting reaquainted with people they went to school with via Facebook. I want those people to stay forgotten.

Yes~! You get me.

That's why I go by the pseudonym Clyde. I can screen people from a part of my life I hated.

I know how you feel mate... some things are best left forgotten and some people left behind in your past..where they should stay and rot FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =P

But, I can assume facebook is a place I should go to if I want to be stalked by people I hated in high school?
