if you have certain answers/statements which are rote, it might be easier, as there is something that is concrete in a conversation.
That's why telling anecdotes is so relaxing - you're saying something you have said before (probably several times) and they usually serve to open a new path of conversation.
I don't think I have many entertaining anecdotes. I don't like rote answers or statements either. Especially around women I see often. Or that are around people I see often. Also the fact that I don't being too static in my umm... impression I leave on people. I have a friend who DOES have a set of contentious monologues, anecdotes and other pre-meditated crap that I can't help but think of as gimmicks. And as great a first impression it leaves on people, all it does is make those of us who already know him all the more sick of him.
The fact that he's a complete phony doesn't help either.
Actually... all the stuff you said is alright as long as you're not a douchebag or a phony. But the thing is... I don't feel myself if I'm doing that stuff. I don't feel I'm ever completely honest in my expression of myself around women.

Besides... I don't think I'd have less trouble talking to girls with Eurovision under my belt.
