Scouting for Racism…I mean Food!

Some of you may be aware that my son is a member of the Boy Scouts of America. Recently they went on a trip to the Antietam National Battlefield. This has led to some … interesting developments that have thrown me for a little bit of a loop, and thus my posting.

Wow - that's just plain... amazing. I can appreciate trying to get both sides of a story, but that's just irresponsible. Is there anyone up the chain in the Scouts you can have speak to the guy?

I'm glad you took the time to talk to Austin and catch the bias, and were able to give him a broader view of the history. How do the Scouts monitor the activities/educational materials that troop leaders impart - particularly on trips like these?

I'm not sure it's worth the effort. The Boy Scouts of America is well known to be a Conservative organization, what with the bigotry towards gays and so forth.

I don't know that they do monitor the activities/educational materials, because they all agree with the viewpoint, afaict.

Anyway, fuck 'em.

Go into rural Westmoreland County and you don't have to look hard to find Confederate flags. I want to spray-paint TRAITOR on every one of them.
