Do you have a problem with me continuing my current business when I return from leave?

Not at all, though my records indicate you're a bit of a SWAT force, purely by skill.

If you need me to intervene in any given situation, just let me know.

The roster is already complicated enough as it stands-

May I inquire as to the reason for the sub-organization?

Some officers are better suited for the task at hand than others. Some are very good at ending disturbances, others better at following a trail. I won't have anyone doing both at all times. That would be ridiculously taxing, Lieutenant.

Forgive me if this seems out of line, but it's for precisely that reason that I had the force divided into units.

I'm aware of the taxing nature of trying to do many things at once, and I'm not going to argue that point, but I very much doubt that many of our officers would volunteer for much more than they can handle.

So...Forensics would go under Investigator, right?

Or you can stay in the lab all day if you wish. Otherwise certainly you're CSI.

People bringing me stuff would be cool. It'd be like getting presents.

I believe you can place everyone under my jurisdiction under your "Investigation" heading, and some of them also patrol during times when we are not on a major case. My position as Head of Intelligence should be self-explanatory.

And what is the point

I hate elected officials.

I hope you're aware that by definition the Warden only has authority over the organization and maintenance of the jail. The rationale behind limiting the activities of officers escapes me. If the police force wishes to continue holding any standing amongst the population it cannot afford to sit back until called upon.

If you are attempting to reduce work for yourself, I can assure you that in the long term you will only be doing the reverse.

Yes but far be it for me to disguise the fact that without our prison you have no holding cell and without a holding cell you have no trial.

I don't expect them to sit back, I expect them not to bite off more than they can chew.

Would you really refuse to allow the police use of the facility, were it to come to that? Were that the case, the police would simply remove all support for the facility and the Warden position would be worthless.

We can handle more than you are giving us credit for.
