The all seeing eye it seems a strange set of coincidences, each turn leaves me face to eye with knowledge. Someday I hope to view the world from its perspective that is, what the symbol stands for. It stands for knowledge, it is a symbol of the learned ones, the few "illuminated" human beings among us. One of the things I wonder continuously is ( Read more... )

I think that in order to achieve such a state of mind, it would be easiest to go away from here... maybe to the forest of some other country or something.

youre at work, and im just sitting here trying to study this stupid book. with every sentence i read, the more i realize that there is too much here for me to ever absorb... its slightly hopeless. how i wish i was like you...

There is a big difference between enlightenment and omnipotence. You should research Buddhism and other eastern religions, you may learn a great deal. I've had the same thoughts before... I'd suggest knowing that you often are wrong (like everyone else) and also reflecting on your thoughts and actions.

And just something I've learned... Holding concrete beliefs often results in ignorance. Keep an open mind.

You are right, a closed mind is like a tightened noose around our necks. I feel that much of society already hangs from the gallows. I am aware of the difference between the two and being one does not necessarily mean having the other. You just happened upon a bored rant of mine. I already have many books on buddhism and more specifically medidation but I find it is hard for me to disconnect and be still. All we can do is try until we get it right.

Meditation takes practice and a determined mind. I can only do it for about 30 minutes well, after that it is hard to concentrate. It used to only be 5-10 minutes.

This seems to be the case throughout history. It's nice to see someone my age who thinks deep like I do. I'm glad to see you've checked out some eastern religion books... Perhaps you'd also be interested in more western ideas? You should check out humanistic psychology and existential psychology (logotherapy). Carl Rogers was onto something very deep with his belief in self-actualization.

Also, I keep a real journal that nobody really knows about where you can write deep things with absolutely no threat of it being public. My online one is a bit of a shame, I just put general info in it really.
