I liked it. You might not see the Deck/Sophia thing since you haven't read Flashpoint, but you might like. There's a little Sam story at the end, but I don't think you'd consider it the old Sam you love. :)

Is it the whipped Sam from before?

Well, if you think it's whipped to be worried that your wife is missing/maybe dead overseas after one of the helicopters the person she was hired to guard was shot down, then yeah. ;)
