Sapir-Whorf corner
one-word words not shared between languages

to lock - cerrar con llave - tancar amb clau
jamás - jamai - almost, perhaps we must count the hopelessly obscure nevermore
anguriñas - processed fish supermarket product in the form of noodles, possibly made from Surumi

That's awesome! I want to think of more non-shared one-word words now.

I was about to say that "kick" as a verb was one -- I heard the expression "dar una patada" in Mexico -- but apparently "patear" maps right onto English's "to kick"?

Yes, I think patear corresponds to kick. I just thought it was weird, about not being a single word for lock.

I'm not sure there's a single word for "to rock" either.
