I got to see my sister for the second time since she got married in December when I went to visit my parents for Easter. :)

I finally got my taxes filed. After paying nearly half the amount I'm getting back, I have resolved to learn to do do it myself next year.

I am so ready for this year to be over. I'm nearly finished with bartending classes and putting in applications all over the place. I'm still looking into an apprenticeship as a piercer, but it's gonna have to wait until I get a job and work out that whole I-have-more-bills-than-income-at-the-moment situation. The last three months of 2007:  0 jobs + 2 classes became 2 jobs+ 2 classes which yielded 1 job+ 2 finals(this week); bartending classes starting next week (+1 job).

I hate holidays. Priortizing one day so much makes any bad thing that happens on/near that day somehow more tragic and important. 

I just got finished with a self-defense class offered on campus. The first hour was just talking about the basic, common sense things people can do to protect themselves. I was suprised to learn that many carjackings actually take place in residential driveways and the number of shots fired at close range that miss.

Some days, I swear I want at least one hillbilly bridesmaid with a shotgun and cement blocks in the back of her pickup truck to ensure I never make it all the way down the aisle. I'm horrified by hearing the lives women sacrifice for their husbands.
